Why would you pay the same price for a 6 book bundle, when you can get all 7 books individually. The publisher or whoever is in charge of pricing has done the same thing for the bundle that includes just the first 3 books. Aside from the poor math skills, this series is entertaining and delightful.
Giving this as one review for this collection of this series. I absolutely loved books 1-4. They were solely about the exciting adventures of Atticus and his comical mental talking dog Oberon. All the secondary characters were interesting additions. Lots of interesting supernatural bad guys to give Atticus problems.
Book 5 was a little less exciting and the attempts at levity seemed sometimes just thrown in and not very funny. Book 6 was a complete wash out for me. It was very lackluster with little action. Even a romantic episode was unexciting. I had to force myself not to skim over pages to finish the book. The ending was so abrupt that it seemed like Hearne must have hit a mental block and just stopped typing.
As to the next books in the series. I had hoped books 6 and 7 would be better. 6 was just okay. Book 7 was simply awful. I will not waste anymore money on this series.
In the Iron Druid Chronicles, Kevin Hearne weaves a modern episodic tale of sword & sorcery with Atticus O'Sullivan, an ancient druid living in Tempe, Arizona. Through the course of the series Hearne introduces readers to a cast of comedic and charming characters, while exploring a modern world rife with ancient Deities, Undead, and mythological creatures.
Each book of the series brings a new twist to the long life of Atticus O'Sullivan, as ancient and modern pantheons are introduced to the tale. Kevin Hearne keeps the pages turning with well written fight scenes, pop-culture references, and witty banter from the dog. The series is a fun exploration into a modern world with manifestations of our imagination... good and bad. Far less bleak than Gaiman's American Gods, the Iron Druid Chronicles is a fun read for teenagers and adults alike.
Earlier this year I purchased all of these eBooks separately (at $6 each). I'm thrilled that the publisher has decided to release this bundle, as I've been recommending the series to friends & family.
